Welcome to the University of Oregon!
We’re so excited to welcome you home to Eugene. IntroDUCKtion is about helping you understand what it means to be a Duck both inside and outside of the classroom. We’ll share tips for student success, help you understand what it takes to earn your degree, and introduce you to programs, resources, and departments that are here to help. We’ll also teach you about some traditions at the UO and how to navigate life as a Duck.
All sessions are required for students.

9:00–9:30 a.m. | Welcome Join us to learn more about IntroDUCKtion and meet your Student Orientation Staffer (SOSer) that will lead you through the program. | |
9:30–10:05 a.m. | Flock Meeting 1 Meet up with your assigned group based on the number on your name badge. Your SOSer will lead you and the rest of your group through a few Flock Meetings throughout your session. This is a time to get to know other incoming students, process information from presentations, and ask questions! | Follow your SOSer! |
10:05–10:50 a.m. | Your Story, Our Story All Ducks have a story that tells us who they are. Share your story and learn about the places on campus to find a home away from home. | |
10:50–11:20 a.m. | Flock Meeting 2 Follow your SOSer for your second Flock meeting. | Follow your SOSer! |
11:20 a.m.–12:30 p.m. | Trek Through the Trees Our conference-style programming, or “Trek Through the Trees”, is a time for you to learn about what interests you the most. There will be two rounds of presentations at the times listed below - you can attend any presentation that interests you. See below for a list of presentations and locations! Round 1: 11:30–11:55 a.m. Round 2: 12:05–12:30 p.m. | |
12:30–1:30 p.m. | Lunch Use the Duck Bucks card you received during check-in to purchase lunch at any of the open on-campus dining venues. | On your own! Check out a full list of summer dining options. |
1:30–2:35 p.m. | Get Explicit This presentation is our sexual violence prevention program, where you will hear from current Ducks in University Health Services about consent, sexual wellness, and being an effective bystander. | |

2:45–3:15 p.m. | Student Wellbeing: University Health Services This panel-style presentation consists of current UO students who work in wellbeing related programs in University Health Services. During the panel, you can expect to learn more about requirements for incoming students, navigating the transition into college, and what it means to "be well" as a college student at UO! We'll also have time for you to ask any questions about wellbeing you may have. | |
3:15–3:45 p.m. | Intro to Advising Learn more about what you have in store as you transition from your previous institution to the UO! We’ll cover everything from credit articulation to academic support resources, and more. | |
3:45–4:50 p.m. | Advisor Connect and Campus and Community Resource Fair Advisor Connect is your time to get to know members of the academic advising team for your college and get some questions answered! Please note that you will not have an academic advising appointment or register for classes in-person during IntroDUCKtion as this process is completed virtually. Downstairs from Advisor Connect, you will find our Campus and Community Resources Fair where you can have 1-on-1 conversations with students, staff and faculty that work for groups that are here to support students in finding your community during their time at the UO. |

Sports 101 | Sports 101 will provide you with the info you need to support the Ducks across all UO athletic events - from tickets and rewards to involvement; this is your key to being the best Duck fan you can be. You'll learn how to secure tickets for UO athletic events, including updated Duck Sports Pass policies, and how to get involved with athletics through Pit Crew and Mighty Oregon Rewards. | |
Fraternity and Sorority Life 101 | Join us to learn more about the fraternity and sorority community as a whole, each of the individual councils, and provide information on the recruitment process. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of our community and how to get involved and resources needed for next steps. | |
Get Involved with Clubs | Hear from staff in the Center for Student Involvement about what kind of clubs are offered at UO, how to find student organizations, and ways to get involved on campus. Learn how to find your communities and navigate the online platform for all UO affiliated student organizations. | |
Duckversity: Finding Belonging within Community | Join us to explore identity centered communities, student organizations, campus resources, and fun events that support you all year long. Discover spaces rooted in care, connection, and collaboration— where identity meets community, and belonging begins. | |
Finding Community and Engaging in Leadership on Campus | Learn about how to get involved in the UO and Eugene community and develop leadership skills! The Holden Center for Leadership and Community Engagement offers a wide variety of programs that strive to make leadership development and community engagement accessible to students of all years and majors. We will discuss the programming we offer and facilitate some discussions surrounding community building. | |
Getting Started with Technology on Campus | Staff from the Technology Service Desk will cover the software available to students, commonly asked tech questions, and provide crucial information on ways you can successfully navigate tech as a student. | |

Whether you’re looking for a job, exploring internships, learning about career, wanting to connect with employers, or just polishing your resume, we’re here to walk alongside you as you take the steps to build the career readiness skills to launch into your future. | |
Real Life @ UO: Campus Safety Essentials | College is full of new experiences — including navigating campus and life on your own. This interactive session introduces you to the people, tools, and resources that help keep you and the University of Oregon community safe. Meet the teams from UOPD and Safety & Risk Services, explore safety apps, maps, and emergency resources, and practical tips for handling common campus situations while staying aware, prepared, and connected as a Duck. | |
Study Abroad with Global Education Oregon (GEO) | Stop by this session to get an overview of study abroad opportunities for UO students! Identify academic, career, and personal goals connected to study abroad as you get an overview of program types and how to fund study abroad opportunities. | |
Accessible Education Center (AEC) | This session provides information regarding the Accessible Education Center (AEC) and how we can assist students who self-identify with a disability. Learn about the process of making an appointment with our team, meeting with an AEC advisor, accommodation processes, and sending notification letters. If you - or your student - had a 504 plan or IEP in high school, we recommend you attend this session. | |
Understanding Financial Aid | This session will provide an overview of financial aid and scholarships. Learn from our team about navigating different types of aid, important deadlines, and tips for understanding your aid package and managing costs during your time at the university. | |
Ask the Experts: Current Student Panel | This session will give you the opportunity to ask your questions about all things "life as a Duck" to the experts - current UO students! They will share experiences about life on and off campus with time for you to ask the questions you want answers to the most. | |
Quack the Code: A First Year’s Guide to Academic Success | Join staff from the Tutoring and Academic Engagement Center to learn more about the transition to college academics. We'll share information about academic support services at the UO, quick tips for success, and how you can be successful in the classroom starting from day 1. Students and families will leave this presentation with a clear understanding of what general and subject specific resources are available, what the differences are between studying and learning in high school vs. college, and how to prepare for academics in fall term. | |
